Gov. Larry Hogan on Wednesday lifted the outdoor mask mandate in Maryland as the state continues to vaccinate more residents against COVID-19.
Masks are still required in public indoor spaces, on public transit and at large ticketed venues, Hogan said. People who are not yet fully vaccinated should continue to use caution and wear masks when they cannot remain socially distant.
The change to the mask mandate is effective immediately. It comes a day after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said fully vaccinated people do not need to wear a mask outdoors except in crowds.
